FAQ
Powers Media Productions was created by Daniel and Alicia Powers with the desire to provide the community with high quality event video coverage at an affordable price. Below are some common questions about Powers Media Productions and their answers.
Q.) What is your style like?
A.) Most events that we record are done in documentary style. What that means is we are behind the scenes capturing the moments as they unfold. We want to record the action without being a part of the action. When you watch your movie you will see all of the important parts of your day in chronological order. You will most likely see some things that you didn’t even know happened. Certain cinematic camera techniques will be incorporated so that the footage will keep your interest.
Upon request we can also produce a cinematic wedding movie that feels a bit more romantic and glamourous. We will capture moments from the day and then use the footage to tell your wedding day story. Moments of your day may not appear in chronological order but the essence and emotion of the day will still be conveyed in the movie. This style may require us to be a bit more involved with directing what happens during parts of the day. We may also want to record some scenes before or even after the wedding day.

Q.) How long have you been in business?
A.) We first started producing video projects for customers in the spring of 2005. The first wedding we produced was in 2006. Since then we have improved the quality of our work significantly. There have been major advances in camera technology in just the last few years. Our original projects were recorded using standard definition cameras. Everything we do now is recorded in full 1080p High Definition. We also have started to incorporate new DSLR cameras that record video that is simply amazing. Of course another reason the quality of the work has improved since the first few years is our experience. Having a good experienced video company at your event is essential. An experienced videographer who is familiar with your type of event, can anticipate the shots that transform an ordinary dull movie into an extraordinary cinematic experience. We are constantly learning and striving to improve with each new year that we are in business and we look forward to seeing what the future has in store for us.
Q.) Why did you start this business?
A.) We set out to produce wedding videos for couples so that they would not experience the regret that we did. When we planned our own wedding we knew that we had to hire wedding photographers. We planned on getting a nice wedding album along with some pictures to hang on the wall. At the time we didn’t have a lot of money and there was never too much thought about getting a wedding video. We felt that a video was not necessary and we could use the money for something else. Soon after our wedding we knew we made a mistake. The wedding album and all the photos were wonderful but our wedding day went by so quickly it was really hard to soak it all in. There were so many special moments during the wedding day that occurred that we wish we had captured them on video. Pictures are nice to have but they really don’t tell the entire story of the day. We are not alone with our regrets. In fact, most couples who do not get a wedding video regret not having one. You will no doubt want to remember your wedding day. A wedding video is really the best way to relive the special moments. Don’t make the same mistake we did. Get a wedding video, even if it isn’t from us. We would even be glad to recommend some other videographers in the area for you if you contact us.
